A few months ago, I don't know why but I decided to delete my Paypal account to use <a href="http://www.moneybookers.com">Moneybookers</a> instead. Then, I decided to re-register for Paypal and this time I decided to leave out my middle name. A few days later, after doing some transactions online Paypal did a chargeback on something I bought (which did quite a bit of damage I might add!)<br /><br />After the chargeback they limited my account and I wasn't able to do anything but log in. They asked me for all sorts of information incl. a copy of my passport. It took me months to finally submit a whole bunch of papers to them because I don't have a scanner and just didn't feel like it.<br /><br />I only finally sent them the infos after they sent me a final warning to restore my account. I then realized that having a Paypal account was really quite important so that's when I cooperated with them.
